The Let It Matter Podcast is a half-hour weekly podcast which seeks to bring its listeners a rich tapestry of topics, guests, perspectives, and practicable takeaways, as well as a weekly blessing or benediction.
“I wanted to say how much I appreciate and admire Kelly’s vulnerability and openness that she’s brought to every episode and interview of the podcast. Her ability to share and also just asking really good questions make her such a quality interviewer.” - Rani, Queensland, AUS
“Kelly is starting a new podcast. She has a beautiful perspective and a kind fierceness. And I’m glad to be one of her first guests!” - KJ Ramsey, author and licensed therapist
Easily-digestible episodes are no more than 30 minutes long, and several of the solo episodes (with no guest interview) are often 15-20 minutes long.
It is important to us for any guest we have on this show to be people who are experienced or experts in their subject matter, so that they are leading our listeners well, but also that they do their work with integrity, and seek to lift others up with them when they succeed. We will also be intentional to bring guests on the show that may have little-to-no "public platform" but who have meaningful contributions to the conversation and operate in integrity, and who deserve a seat at the table because of that.
Kelly, as producer and host, is keenly aware of the lack of nuance which exists in our public discourse these days. I think we are all pretty well aware of that. But rather than avoiding stating her convictions or discouraging guests to do that, or avoiding those guests all together, she seeks to model that healthy, charitable, spirited discourse can take place between people who differ or disagree.
One of Kelly's favorite things to do is to resource people looking for answers or direction on a given topic, and doing so by amplifying the voices of trustworthy people whose work she has learned from— whether that's by having them on the show as a guest or by sharing links, mentioning titles, boosting them on our social medias, and including their work in the show notes. Connecting the person in need of help, direction, wisdom, and information to a writer, public thought-leader or theologian, a book, a podcast, or even a YouTube video is truly one of her spiritual gifts and favorite things.
There is a particular kind of soul-level ministry that happens when we receive an intentional blessing or benediction. We recognize that so many of you, for whatever reason, can't attend church right now. We wanted to bring a little bit of Church to you, our listeners. Not the building and the steeple and the choir loft, but the ministry of presence and of blessing that can be experienced there. So each episode will end with Kelly either reading a blessing or benediction written by someone else which she selected for that days' topic, or one she wrote herself just for you, her listeners.
